Graphic design and layout for a short play printed on a billboard for a street exhibition.
Client: Blackbox
Team: Playwriting by Inna Eizenberg
Role: Art direction, graphic design
Year: October 2014
Blackbox is an art initiative that takes over public spaces in Jerusalem for a few weeks every year and turns them into exhibition spaces by replacing billboard ads around the city with art. The theme for the fall 2014 exhibit was “Plans for the Future”.
I collaborated with Inna Eizenberg, a rising playwriting star in Israel’s theatre scene and a friend, on presenting a bittersweet dialog between a girl and her smartphone’s personal assistance app.
Inna wrote the text and I designed it for billboard format, drawing inspiration from user interfaces and chats. Our billboard, titled “My Dear”, was selected for the exhibition and was on display in central Jerusalem.
